What I Read This Week – 16.07.17

Mini Review:
This is probably the most iconic Humour fanfic in the Twilight Fanfic fandom. I re-read this every couple of months and every time I read it, it’s as if I’m reading it for the first time. Bella has a son and Edward has a son and daughter. The summary is great to pull readers in and then when you read the story it’s even better. I always laugh throughout the story and it gives you the feels with how cute the dynamic of everyone’s relationship is. It’s a story you can’t not read.

Mini Review: This fanfic is currently a work in progress, there’s only a few fanfics that I read at the WIP stage, and those are the ones that capture me straight away. I love me a cowboyward and this story just pulls at the heart. When Bella and Edward first meet Bella is engaged and is to be wed to her childhood sweetheart, Jacob, within a couple of days. But Bella knows he’s a changed person and wants out of the wedding. Rosalie, her best friend, takes her out whilst they’re in Vegas (where Bella’s wedding is being held). They meet cowboys Edward and Emmett, who is a Bull rider, and the attraction is instant for both Bella and Edward and Emmett and Rosalie. The reason why this story pulls at your heart is because after the they part ways, fate is just not on their side when either Bella or Edward try to find or talk to each other. You just want a happy ending, but there’s more to go and this author right so well that she has us on edge each time.

Unexpected Complication by Edward’s Eternal

Summary: Homeless Bella seeks shelter from a storm in an abandoned warehouse. But while she is there, she witnesses something she should never have seen. It was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. After discovering her, the gunman realizes he has no choice but to protect her from what she’s seen. He has to save her—even if she fights him—even if she hates him.

Mini Review:
I had started this fanfic when it was first out and then I decided to pause and wait for the fic to be finished. After only now that I’ve finished it, I regret that I should have read it whilst it was being written. Like with all Edward Eternal’s fics, they’re well written and captivating. I didn’t want to put the fic down once I started it again recently. There’s so much to the story that you’ll never be bored, Edward’s Eternal never has a stagnant chapter. There’s always something going on, which is why I can’t go into detail about it. But do give this story a go, not everything is as it seems when you start the fic.

Summary: Bella is deaf and due to her disability, she is unable to do the one thing she’s always wanted to do, follow in her father’s footsteps and be a firefighter. Overcoming the hatefulness of several people, she works in the firehouse, but can she be the saving grace in a scary emergency situation?

Mini Review: Although this is complete, I’m halfway through this, so I can’t tell you about the ending. However, I can you what I’ve read so far. Bella who although cannot follow Charlie’s footsteps in being a firefighter, she is there for the team as if she was. Enter Edward, who joins the team and the two are it for each other. The love Edward has for Bella is so sincere and sweet, you’d want a Firefighterward for yourself.

What I Read This Week – 25.06.17

Mini Review:
I’m more than half way through this one. So far though, it’s not a bad plot line. Those who avoid stories because of grammatical errors, don’t read this one. It’s not that bad, but those who seriously can’t handle it, I’d avoid it. Also, there are some instances in this story that are repetitive when it comes to Bella and Edward’s relationship. You kind of want to scream, “we’ve been through this before”. However, you can say that it reflects the Edward in the original Twilight.

Mini Review:
When I first saw the summary, I didn’t know what the story would be about. I thought at first maybe it would have to do with Bella being addicted to porn. But no, that’s not what happens in the fic at all. Rosalie takes Bella to a porn convention where Bella meets Edward. She thinks he’s someone who has been dragged to the convention too. But there’s more to Edward than Bella sees, but not for long…

Mini Review:
ThisIsReallyHappening is one of those authors that I love and reread all their fics all the time. I absolutely love Birmingham, it’s not your typical fanfiction. It explores an era where new born mix-raced children were killed by society. Edward, a mix-raced child is hidden away by his white mother, Esme, who had been shunned for marrying Carlisle, a black man.
It will make you experience all sorts of emotions and shows you the reality of that era.

Mini Review:
Another great fic from ThisIsReallyHappening. I always love fics that are centred on small town life, but this isn’t the same small-town fic you always read. We start the story with Bella’s crazy but humorous family. At the courthouse, the whole town attends the introduction to the new sheriff, Edward Cullen. For Bella, although in denial, you can see she’s attracted and instantly interested in the new young sheriff. Through the story we see Bella and Edward’s relationship move forward but there’s also a lot of secrets that this sheriff holds.

Mini Review:
I’m always one to read Momella fics and I’m really enjoying this one. Although Bella isn’t Natalie’s mother, she transitions into that role instantly and very well. When trouble ensues, Bella meets officer Edward Cullen. Bella easily balances being mother to Natalie and starting an instant relationship with Edward. Edward also takes to Natalie effortlessly as a father figure in her life. It’s one of those sweet fics, but it does start out with some sadness in the beginning. But don’t be deterred, it’s shows Natalie adapting quickly and happily with her new life.

Mini Review:
From another favourite author of mine, comes The Curb. The story starts with Bella drunkenly stumbling the streets in search for Angela’s New Year’s Eve party. In her failed attempt to find the house, she hears a moaning and injured Edward lying on the curb. Once at the hospital and after persuasion from Edward, Bella is put in charge of Edward to make sure he doesn’t sleep for 24 hours. Here Bella and Edward’s relationship starts. I’d rather keep his reason being beaten untold so that you can read the story and be hooked as I was.

Summary: He’s old school, and I think I like it! 2nd Place Judges’ and Public Votes, P.S. I LOVE YOU CONTEST.

Mini Review:
This wonderful story started as a one shot for the ‘P.S I Love You’ contest and by popular demand, it was continued into a full-length story. When I first started reading this it was still a work in progress. It has now been completed a sequel has now been posted.
It’s an Olderward fanfic, but hold on, he is super sexy. Bornonhalloween writes this Edward with such manners and charm that, this is the only clue as to how old he is. He is a true gentleman, and offers Bella, a college student going to a job interview, his umbrella in the pouring rain. I can’t do justice to this fic with this mini-review. It’s more than just what I’ve explained. This type of Edward, make everyone want this type of person in their lives.

The whole fandom was excited to have our Umbrella Man back. I can’t wait to see what bornonhalloween gives us. It’s a story that is read as soon as the update appears.

What I Read This Week – 11.06.17

Mini Review:
So, this first one is a popular fic (I think) but it was written in 2010. It’s such a cute story, the reason why I say cute is because Edward is so adorable in this. I just want to eat him up. He’s the shy one in and Bella is more outgoing than he is. Bella volunteers at his bookshop, trying to change her life. Readers will see their relationship grow from friendship into more. I think that’s what I like most, that there’s a solid friendship before anything else.

Summary: High school relationships are always more complicated than they should be. Usually, those complications are made up of the drama that is teenage life. Sometimes… it’s really complicated. Edward and Bella were already there before the surprise of their young lives threw them into a life they weren’t remotely prepared for.

Mini Review:
From a veteran author and one of my favourites, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I missed this fic and had a new (to me) fic to read. It delves straight into the story with teenage Bella giving birth with the help of Edward. If you’re not already hooked from this first chapter, I’d be surprised as I just had to find out what else was to come. 2nd chapter: Edward says he’s not the father! With Bella and Edward being only friends, and Edward having a girlfriend, this fic shows how everything really is complicated. But fear not those who will shy away from this fic because Edward has a girlfriend, trust me, it’s worth reading and it is a B/E story.

Mini Review:
I love fics that are focused on small town life. I loved reading this story which revolves around Bella and Edward. Bella is the chief’s daughter who comes to the small town of Evening Shade. Bella and Charlie’s relationship is very rocky as Renee took Bella away from when she was very young. So Bella who is trying to rebuild her relationship with her father, comes to evening shade and meets the town folk including the mayor, Edward Cullen. It’s a story of Bella falling in love with Edward and the town, and as always vice versa.

What I Read This Week: Introduction

Welcome to a new segment of WHAT I READ THIS WEEK!

So after some thought, I decided to post fics that I have been reading during the week. That way you still know what fanfics I’m reading. As I had originally planned to start posting this back in January, I have a couple of fics from then.

I will continue making banners with their fic recs which I will keep for the Fic Rec posts.
The recs that I post for this ‘segment’, aren’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea or even one of the famous stories every time. It’s probably going to be a random fic from an infinite amount of fics that I have in my library that need reading. I’ll post a mini review for them or really my views on it, that way you can judge if you’d like to give it a try.

I’ll put up another post for the recs to start the segment 😀

I’m Still Here

Hi everyone!

I know it’s been a couple of months since you last heard from me and I just wanted to let you know that I’m still here.

A couple of months ago real life took a bad turn and well I’ve been dealing with that.

Hopefully now I’ll get back to my creations. I don’t know how close I’ll be able to keep up with the schedule I had, but I do aim to continue posting.

Manip Monday – 13.02.17

Happy Monday Everyone!

I know, I know, it’s almost Tuesday for some of us. It’s been a busy week for me.

I was almost not able to live up to the continuous weekly postings. I was also not going to be able to get three done, but I had the majority done in the all of them…so here they are!

I’m going to be honest, not my best work I’ve produced but at least I tried. I think next time if I don’t get any done the way I want it, I’ll just wait until the posting.

So keeping up with the theme, I have a couple of RomCom movie posters that I manipulated.

1st we have Esme and Carlise (Elisabeth Reaser and Peter Pacinelli) in the movie Date Night!

Secondly, we have Emmett and Rosalie (Kellan Lutz and Nikki Reed) in the movie When In Rome.

Last but not least, Bella and Edward (Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson) in the movie Love and Other Drugs.
